The 3Scooter is a mobility aid designed for disabled use, and may be eligible for VAT relief in line with HMRC guidance (VAT Notice 701/7). If you, or the person you're buying for, have a long-term illness or disability, and the 3Scooter is for that person's personal or domestic use, it may be zero-rated — meaning no VAT is charged at checkout.
You do not need to be registered disabled, or provide any medical proof, to claim this relief.
By choosing the “Yes, I qualify for VAT relief” option on a product, you declare that:
- You have a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial effect on your ability to carry out everyday activities, and are chronically sick or disabled — or you are purchasing on behalf of someone who meets this description
- Older age on its own, without a qualifying condition, does not meet this definition
- The 3Scooter is for the personal or domestic use of the eligible person, and not for resale, hire, or business use
- You understand that it is a criminal offence to make a false declaration in order to obtain VAT relief
